Loyd Wayne Whisenhunt passed away Nov. 10, 2019. He was born Jan. 14, 1936, to H.B. and Omie Capps Whisenhunt in Garvin, Oklahoma.
He was retired from Domtar and was an active member of Ashdown Church of Christ where he served as an elder for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald; and two sisters, Audrey and Zelma.
He is survived by his wife, Mattie Stanton Whisenhunt. They would have been married 63 years on Nov. 24. Also, surviving him are his brother, J.W. Whisenhunt; a sister, Helen Little; daughters, Tamye Lamb (Johnny), Sharon Shelton and Jan Johnson (Trey); grandchildren, Erica Lamb, Amanda Lamb, Jennifer Minton (Nick), Jason Beene (Kristal), Mia Johnson, Brittany Johnson, and Mason Johnson; and great grandchildren Tatum Beene, Kaleigh and Braylyn Minton.
A memorial service will be Saturday, Nov. 16, 1 p.m., at Ashdown Church of Christ with David Formby officiating. There will be a private interment at Saratoga Cemetery, Saratoga.
