Students Sell Show Animals at County Premium Sale

The county fair season came to a close with the Little River County Junior Livestock Premium Sale at the fairgrounds on Aug. 30 at 12 p.m. Students from both Ashdown and Foreman sold their hogs, goats, lambs, cattle and rabbits to local buyers. Kyla McElroy and Hunter Lewis won the Herdsman Award, awarded this year in memory of Kay Milam.

1. Carter Thrash, Ashdown, Supreme Heifer
Carter Thrash of Ashdown sold his supreme heifer for $1,500 to Pruit Ranch, Davis Feed and Hope Livestock.

Kayci Jo Krause of Ashdown sold her supreme bull for $1,500 to Domtar and Douglas Farms.
